To achieve the best absorption, we recommend taking vitamin D3 and K2 with a meal that contains healthy fats, such as olive oil, avocado, or nuts, as both nutrients are fat-soluble. While standard daily maintenance doses for adults often range from 1,000 to 2,000 IUs of vitamin D3 alongside 45 to 120 micrograms of vitamin K2 (as MK-7), the ideal ratio can vary depending on individual health goals. It is always wise to consult a healthcare professional to determine the exact amounts tailored to your personal requirements.

Safety and who should avoid it

While this combination is generally considered safe for most people, caution is necessary for certain individuals. Because vitamin K plays a primary role in blood clotting, anyone taking anticoagulant medications, such as warfarin, must consult their doctor before starting a vitamin K2 supplement, as it can interfere with how these medicines work. Furthermore, individuals with hypercalcaemia (excessive calcium levels in the blood) should avoid high doses of vitamin D3 unless closely supervised by a medical professional.
